Lamar Soccer Club - U12 Girls "United" wins 4th Place in a mixed-age bracket of U12 and U13 girls at the 2008 West Houston Tax Time Tournament at George Bush Park in West Houston over the weekend, April 19-20th, 2008. Way to go girls!

Lamar Soccer Club’s U16 Lamar Lady Lightning won second at District competition and again advance to State in Austin May 17 & 18. After an eight game regular season, U16 Lady Lightning faced three challenging District teams and won its first game 2-0 with goals by Amber M. and Ashley S. over a strong Timberline team. In the second game Lamar played a very physical Texas Rage team who won 2-0. Goalie Anisa V. made several saves including a goal stopping leap that deflected the ball up and over the crossbar. Although injured from a tough collision late in the second half, Anisa stayed in the game. Her ribs checked out OK at the hospital later that evening.
In Sunday’s final game, replacement goalies were critical. Sarah S’s great body block saved the first half and Vanessa P’s save in the last 30 seconds locked in Lamar’s final win. Melissa D. and Amberae T. made several aggressive steals and Caroline F. shut down her opponents by her close-in attacks. Sweeper Hannah M., and fullbacks Nisha P., Katy H. and Sarah S. provided excellent defense at Districts. With only four minutes left in the final game with the score tied 0-0, MVP Juliana J. scored with a well-placed shot thirty yards from the goal over the Mustang goalie’s head to give Lamar a goal, the win, and right to advance to State in Austin. The Lady Lightning took 2nd at state in Spring 2007.

U8 Lamar Hurricanes
The U8 Hurricanes make a push to the top!
Coached by Dan Pacious, the Lamar Soccer Club U8 Hurricanes are making some
noise in their bracket this season. If you want to make some noise on the
soccer field visit the club website at lamarsoccerclub.org. Registration
for the fall season begins in May.

The U8 Lamar Toranados have been creating a storm this season as they
play in a U9 bracket. Although they are playing older more experienced
teams, these girls have not given up. Forwards Lilly C., Cami H., Ramiah J. and Mid Fielder Ashlan T. have given it their all to score while Defenders Sydney C., Natalie O.
and Takara R. have been in the back trying to keep the opposing team away from scoring position. Goalie Jacqueline P. has had her hands full protecting the goal and has worked hard to keep the opposing teams from scoring.
